Being raised in a patriarchal society, my father, grandparents, scarlet letter. I’m not sure what I want, better opportunities, new friends, a family, a masters degree? I know one thing, a career, like my mother, something I love to do. Matriarchal household, strong women teaching me, loving men when need be. Not just another pretty face, a proud member of my generation, a feminist with something to say. Leading women, standing tall, equal rights for all. Without my mother, without strong friends, I would never have dreamed I could do this, I wouldn’t have the drive, but I’m a Gilmore and we have family pride.
